This is a great Vintage Taxco Mexican Mexico Sterling Silver Man, Woman, Child, Boy or Girl, ie Family with Big Smiles and Umbrella's Brooch measuring approx. 2 1/4" x 1 7/8" at its widest and marked 925 which is STERLING SILVER and is also marked MEXICO, and is also marked TD-134, the T stands for TAXCO, the D represents the first letter in the last name of the artist, and the number 134 indicates that this artist was the 134th person with a last name beginning with D to Register as a Silversmith in TAXCO. Clasp works fine. Great looking Brooch!
Please remember that anything handmade is not perfect. There may be some flaws, mostly from manufacture, and possibly from age. I will try to note anything that I see as a major flaw.

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
