This is a gorgeous Vintage Sterling Silver $ Dollar Sign Money Clip measuring approx. 1 3/4" X 1" and marked STERLING SILVER and has a makers mark that looks like a 5 pointed star, sorry best pics I could get. Great looking Money Clip!

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
