This is a great looking Retired Vintage James Avery Sterling Silver Cross, measuring approx. 2 1/4" X 1 3/4" at its widest and not including the bale, and is marked with the James Avery Hallmark, and is also marked J.A., and is marked STER which is short for STERLING SILVER. Weighs approx. 36 grams. I've looked and looked, but don't find this particular cross, it resembles the Victoria Cross, but is larger and heavier. Great looking Cross.
Please remember that anything handmade is not perfect. There may be some flaws, mostly from manufacture, and possibly from age. I will try to note anything that I see as a major flaw.

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 900 parts to 1000, ie 900/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
