This is a Vintage James Avery Sterling Silver Tie Tac that comes in the original Avery box, and is what is often referred to as Old Store Stock, meaning that the item was never sold from the store. This measures approx. 5/8", and is marked STER for STERLING SILVER, J/A for James Avery and has the Avery symbol. I no longer have the long attached chains that were added to the Tie Tac to make it longer, they are easily obtainable however. The foam in the little Avery Box is old and has turned hard and kinda sticky, but in any case, this is an Interesting Avery piece.
Please remember that anything handmade is not perfect. There may be some flaws, mostly from manufacture, and possibly from age. I will try to note anything that I see as a major flaw.

Please NOTE, I do not clean any of the jewelry as some collectors prefer to leave the original patina on the piece.
Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
