This is for a Vintage James Avery Sterling Silver Tie Tacs that come in the original Avery box. This measure approx. 5/8", and is marked STER for STERLING SILVER, J/A for James Avery and have the Avery symbol. I no longer have the long attached chains that were added to the Tie Tac to make it longer, they are easily obtainable however. The foam in the little Avery Boxes is old and has turned hard and kinda sticky, but in any case, these are one of a kind, no longer made, Avery tie tacs or lapel pins. This is NEW old store stock!

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
