This is a great Vintage Mexican Taxco Sterling Silver 2 Tone 2 Cats Kittens Brooch measuring approx. 3" X 2 1/4" at its widest, and is marked marked 925 which is Sterling Silver, and is also marked MEXICO and is also marked TA-109, the T stands for TAXCO, the A for the first letter in the last name of the artist, and the number 109 indicates that this artist was the 109th person in Taxco to register with the last name beginning with the letter A. Clasp works fine. This weighs approx. 17 grams. Great looking Brooch!
Please remember that anything handmade is not perfect. There may be some flaws, mostly from manufacture, and possibly from age. I will try to note anything that I see as a major flaw.

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
