This is a great and Huge Vintage Handmade Mexican Mexico Tribal Gothic Sterling Silver Woman with Hat Brooch measuring approx.2" X 1 5/8" at its widest, and is marked marked 900 which is almost but not quite Sterling Silver (where Sterling is 925 parts of 1000 pure silver, this is 900 parts of 1000 pure silver), and has been tested and found to be 900 Silver, and is also marked MAS. Great looking Brooch!
Please remember that anything handmade is not perfect. There may be some flaws, mostly from manufacture, and possibly from age. I will try to note anything that I see as a major flaw.

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
