This is a great Huge Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Hair Barrette that measures approx. 3 1/2" X 1", Bow only, and marked MEXICO, and also marked 925 which is STERLING SILVER, and TS-43 the T stands for TAXCO, the S for the first letter in the last name of the artist, and the number 43 indicates that this artist was the 43rd person with a last name beginning with S to apply to be a Silversmith in TAXCO. Great looking Hair Barrette!
Please remember that anything handmade is not perfect. There may be some flaws, mostly from manufacture, and possibly from age. I will try to note anything that I see as a major flaw.

Coin Silver is used a lot in the making of jewelry, especially Native American pieces. Coin Silver is 800 parts to 1000, ie 800/1000 pure silver, whereas Sterling Silver is 925 parts to 1000, ie 925/1000 pure silver.
